1 Liter UVPoxy Kit

DESCRIPTION

UVPoxy is a high-performance, two-component, water-clear epoxy system designed for tabletops, wood finishing, fluid art, and other applications requiring a clear, strong epoxy coating specifically designed to resist yellowing caused by the sun and other UV sources.

UVPoxy cures to a water-clear, high-gloss finish that is compatible with many substrates. It is formulated to have increased UV stability, moderate viscosity, and moderate system reactivity and is intended for use in quick-setting applications. While UVPoxy has been formulated to resist yellowing, it is not recommended for permanent outdoor applications.

The appearance of UVPoxy can be customized using EcoPoxy’s high-intensity Metallic Pigments and Liquid Color Pigments.  Compatibility of the cured system with a variety of finishing methods, application techniques, and products ensures that desired custom finishes can be achieved.

  •  Mixing

In a clean, dry container combine (by volume) 1 part resin with 1 part hardener and mix thoroughly for 2-3 minutes. Add Liquid, Metallic, or Glitter pigments as desired and mix until evenly dispersed.

    Application

Working area should be clean, dry, and free of dust. Settling dust can cause blemishes on the glossy surface. Pour UVPoxy onto the prepared surface and spread evenly. Use of a V-notched spreader is recommended to achieve a uniform finish at the desired thickness. A light pass with a torch can help release bubbles at, or near, the surface. UVPoxy can be applied up to 3.2mm thick (1/8”) per coat, using as many layers as needed to achieve the desired thickness. For best adhesion between layers, wait until the first layer is tacky to touch to apply another layer. If the first layer is already fully set to touch, sand with 220 grit sandpaper and wipe down before applying another layer. Recommended for indoor applications only.
